Agent.ai Surges Past 500,000 Users—And It’s Just Getting Started

Big news. Agent.ai, the AI-powered agent platform by HubSpot Founder Dharmesh Shah, just smashed 500,000 users.
Just last month? It had 250,000. That’s crazy-fast growth in just a few weeks.
Shah took to LinkedIn, fired up about the milestone:
“Woo hoo! Agent.ai now has 500,000+ users. That’s 10X growth in six months!”.
He gave a massive shoutout to users, thanking the 13,000+ people who left reviews. Ratings help the best AI agents shine.
Also? A big thanks to the 5,000+ users who’ve used the platform’s low-code tool to build custom AI agents.
Where’s Agent.ai Headed?
Right now, Agent.ai runs solo. Not officially part of HubSpot. But Shah has big plans.
If history repeats itself, this could change soon. Just look at his last project, ChatSpot. That started as a side gig, and now? It’s fully integrated into HubSpot as “Breeze Copilot.”
Could Agent.ai be next? Seems likely.
From Launch to 500K Users—In Less Than a Year
Agent.ai launched in September 2024 at HubSpot’s INBOUND event.
The idea? A network of AI agents built to handle sales, marketing, and customer service tasks.
Users could browse, test, and deploy these agents—automating workflows without the hassle.
Shah’s original goal? 100,000 users. By January? Five times that. Now? Half a million.
Most users are testing pre-built AI agents, but the platform also has a low-code tool for creating custom agents.
Best part? You can share your agents with the community and get rated (1 to 5 stars).
Right now, the average rating sits at 3.99 stars—decent for a brand-new platform.
But Shah isn’t satisfied. He’s grinding seven days a week to improve the quality of AI agents.
Wait… What Even Are AI Agents?
AI agents aren’t chatbots. They’re proactive, goal-driven, and actually get things done.
Unlike basic bots, they don’t just answer questions—they act. Plan. Solve problems.
Built on advanced AI, they work independently, make decisions, and adapt to different situations without constant user input.
And they’re getting smarter.
How AI Agents Are Changing Customer Experience
AI agents are already making waves across tons of industries.
📌 Retail: They send setup guides post-purchase, recommend accessories, and personalize follow-ups.
📌 Healthcare: They book appointments, send reminders, and reduce no-shows.
📌 Banking: They spot fraud, freeze suspicious accounts, and notify customers—all without human input.
📌 Education: They recommend study plans, suggest extra resources, and help with skill-building.
ChatGPT Enters Deep Research Mode—Say Hello to Next-Gen AI

OpenAI just dropped a new feature—Deep Research mode. It’s supposed to handle complex, multi-step research across the web. Sounds fancy, right?
This is OpenAI’s second AI agent, following Operator AI, which was launched last month for browser-based tasks.
What’s Deep Research & How Does It Work?
At its core, Deep Research runs on OpenAI’s o3 reasoning model—built for web browsing and data analysis.
The idea? It scans, processes, and analyzes massive amounts of text, images, and PDFs. Then, it spits out a detailed research report that (according to OpenAI) is almost as good as something a real analyst would produce.
But here’s the catch—it’s not instant. Unlike regular ChatGPT searches, Deep Research takes anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to complete. When it’s done, you get a notification.
For now, it’s text-only. But OpenAI says they’ll soon add charts, images, and data visualizations to make the reports more useful.
The Problem With Deep Research
Sounds cool. But is it really useful?
Here’s the thing—AI still hallucinates. OpenAI admits it. Deep Research isn’t immune. It can still make things up, misinterpret data, or struggle to tell fact from rumor.
Even worse? It’s bad at confidence calibration. That means it won’t always tell you when it's unsure. You might get a detailed report full of inaccuracies, with no real way to know what’s legit and what’s nonsense—unless you fact-check everything yourself.
And that’s the irony. If you have to manually verify everything the AI digs up, what’s the point of using it?
A Glimmer of Hope?
OpenAI does say Deep Research will soon access specialized data sources—think subscription-based or internal databases. That could make the reports more reliable and personalized.
Will that fix the problem? Maybe. But until then? It’s just another AI tool that still needs a human double-check.
Microsoft’s Big AI Bet: Personal Agents for Everyone

Walk around Microsoft’s Redmond HQ, and you’ll hear the buzz. AI agents are the future. One of the biggest believers? Ray Smith, Microsoft’s VP of Autonomous Agents.
“Every human will have AI credentials one day,” he told The National.
That means? AI agents are personal assistants who help with tasks, boost productivity, and change how we work.
Microsoft’s Vision: A Swarm of AI Agents
In January, CEO Satya Nadella made it clear.
With the launch of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, he set the goal:
🚀 “AI shouldn’t just assist. It should do the work for you.”
Agents won’t just help—they’ll take over repetitive tasks so humans can focus on bigger things.
Smith breaks it down:
👉 Agents will be everywhere. A single assistant or a fleet of them, handling different parts of your workflow.
👉 They’ll be proactive. Not just answering questions—solving problems.
👉 You don’t need to be a coder. Want an agent that extracts invoice data? Done. Microsoft’s tools make it easy to build one.
Early Adopters Are Already In
Big names like Pets At Home, Thomson Reuters, and Dow Chemical are jumping in.
They’re using AI agents to speed up processes, cut costs, and increase revenue.
The best part? Even non-techies can build them.
Smith says, “It’s like making an Excel spreadsheet. That easy.”
Microsoft’s Edge Over the Competition
AI agents aren’t a new idea. Plenty of tech companies are racing to push their own versions.
But Microsoft’s got some advantages:
✅ Power Automate Connectors—1,500+ prebuilt integrations with Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, and more.
✅ Enterprise-Grade Trust—Microsoft’s been in the game. Businesses trust its security, compliance, and automation expertise.
✅ Scalability—100,000+ companies have already built AI agents with Copilot Studio since early 2024.
What’s Next? AI Agents Everywhere
The early feedback? Customers love the speed.
They can prototype, test, and deploy agents fast.
Smith sees AI agents replacing apps. Instead of clicking around, you just tell an agent what to do.
Will it work? Microsoft is all-in on AI agents. If they pull it off? This could be huge.
Stay in the loop with us. We’ve got insights, guides, and tips to help you stay ahead of the game. Let’s keep leveling up your operations together.
So, what’s next? Push boundaries. Try something new. See what AI can do for you.
